About Me
My name is Randall Truscott, I am 16years old, I was born on May 9th, 1990. I live in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I am in grade 11 at Ancaster Highschool.

I started lifting weights when I was 15years old. I did bodybuilding type workouts just focusing on getting bigger. After 1 year of going to the gym on a regular basis, I was first introduced to Powerlifting. Andy Childs, the owner of Phoenix Fitness is a competitve powerlifter, I started talking to him in the gym about what kind of lifting he was doing and so on. I was very impressed and very interested in how he lifted such heavy weights. I decided right there that I wanted to be a powerlifter. I got ahold of Bill Jamison (OPA President and IPF Technical Committe member) and he invited to come train at his gym 20minutes from my house. He trained me for about 10 months constantly perfecting my technique, which is one of the things that has helped me the most in Powerlifting. After 10 months of training with bill at Steel City Powerlifitng Club, I decided to go on my own since getting to the gym 20min away and having my parents drive me out there 2 times a week was not coming practical anymore. I bought a power rack and a few weights for my basement. After about 1 month of training in my basement, I decided to go out to another powerlifting gym in Guelph (1 hour away)In guelph I got to train with Mark Giffen, Jeff Becker, Mark Holloway, Brandon Summers, Steve Mackenzie, Alex Drolc and daniel Young. I was able to make it out there once every few weeks, and evertime I trained in guelph I learned ALOT. Training with world and national champions made a big difference in my lifting.

I am still lifting in my basement and in guelph every so often, and will continue to until I go to university.
